cure panic attacks without seeing a doctor ?
ByI have been having Panic Attacks for almost 4 years now and i dont know what to do . I dont know what brings them on and i dont want to have to see a doctor to cure them . Is there anybody out there that suffers from Panic Attacks and if so what do you do to get through them ?
I, too, had this problem when I was a teenager. Someone told me to look up toward the heavens. I tried this and discovered that there is in fact a GOD. Now I have nothing to fear because through HIM, there is no situation which I can’t handle. AMEN?
research what makes them worse, lack of sleep, food, exercise and stimulants. some people take sm doses of xanax or other. please avoid street drugs, many people suffer from them. some “outgrow” them, others learn behavioral ways to reduce stresses. some talk it out. maybe physiological causes. sometimes from overthinking, what if’s and not exploring alternatives , inc self esteem, confidence helps. meds should be last resort unless you need sedation for something most people would be anxious about. rumination doesn’t help, distraction, music, sports, there is some natural anxiety/stress that is normal anyway. You could panic when you see the bill if you don’t have insurance. I guess it’s just where you place it on the stress scale in life.. Think about what makes you calm and successful in stressful situations. certainly see doc if worsening sx. alcohol self limiting fix. sleep helps. good luck.
I used to have really bad anxiety and it turned out that gluten was a big problem for me. When I cut out gluten my anxiety went about in about 2 days. That’s a pretty simple solution. If you have an intolerance to gluten, your intestines will be damaged and since most of the serotonin is in your intestines, your body isn’t able to use it effectively. Definitely try that one. You don’t need a doctor for it.
I try to get a massage once a week if it is possible to relax my muscles. When I start feeling like there is something wrong, I repeat my favorite phrase “Go Sounders” until the anxiety goes away. You might want to check the following site and check that you are not the only one with this problem.
If you have been having panic attacks for 4 years, you do need to see a doctor and see if there is anything else going on. Having panic attacks for so long and not seeking treatment can have severe affects on your body that are irreversible and serious. If you still don’t want to see a doctor knowing that, then here a some things that might help you out.
1) Reduce the amount of caffeine in your diet. That includes pop, chocolate, and some over the counter pain killers (like Excedrin). Also, energy drinks (Monster, 5-Hour, etc.) and things that are like pure sugar. Caffeine increases heart rate and how fast your mind (seems) to be working. Increases in the heart rate like this can trigger panic attacks.
2) Breathing exercises. When you feel a panic attack coming on or after one has already started, focus on your breathing. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Try practicing breathe control while you’re feeling well. You will get light-headed most likely, but when you’re having a panic attack you won’t so don’t worry about that.
3) Exercise. Light daily exercise has shown to help people with panic disorder minimize the severity and frequency of their attacks.
I would still suggest going to the doctor and trying some medications. There are some out there that are low dosages that help a lot. You really won’t understand how much the panic attacks are hurting you and interfering with your life until you don’t have them as much or at all anymore. Good luck with everything.
